remember star trek, the opening lines - "Space, the final frontier, these are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise"
Well, i'm not a profound writer nor am i comfortable sharing my inner thoughts publically, but then, i always believe that you should try every new experience once, if it stays with you, adopt it, else put it down as experience
So, i will try to do this and see what happens. i like the way it has been adopted by the young (like my bachcha Vipul) and the old (forgive me Lynn).
People I'd like to see blogging (or reading their minds) would be Sunil Maloo (to work with whom, I'd quit any organisation), Raj Gupta ( a brilliant distiller of great ideas), Pravin Tripathi (am sure his blogs would be available only post 12 noon :-)) and Amit Ray (one of the few people whose mind can wander further than anything I've ever done) There are others also, but I hope they will forgive me my omissions
Actually I was inspired by Lynn and the blogs of all the people she has links with. I read some of them - of people i know. I must say, people say they are passionate about something, but there are very few who can find passion in bettering the life of others (people or animals). Lynn, respect you for that
For those who dont know, Lynn DeSouza was my big boss at Lintas - a lovely organisation i've just left. If generation gaps spread across decades, Lynn and I are seperated by era's. We could never see eye to eye on most issues, or have a conversation where we agreed on something. But its a lovely 4 years passed where i believe i've gained more than i gave
To leave this blog, at this point i end with the poem "If" my personal favourite, the one I'd live and die quoting if i could
If you can keep your head when all about youAre losing theirs and blaming it on you,If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,But make allowance for their doubting too;If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,Or being hated, don't give way to hating,And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master,If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;If you can meet with Triumph and DisasterAnd treat those two impostors just the same;If you can bear to hear the truth you've spokenTwisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winningsAnd risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,And lose, and start again at your beginningsAnd never breath a word about your loss;If you can force your heart and nerve and sinewTo serve your turn long after they are gone,And so hold on when there is nothing in youExcept the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch,If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,If all men count with you, but none too much;If you can fill the unforgiving minuteWith sixty seconds' worth of distance run,Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936)
